NYC Brunch

I am so excited to share this new project with everyone!!! I've wanted to do it for so long but I have been waiting for my website to launch!!! If I wait that long I'll lose out on so many ideas!

On Sundays we brunch is a new project where I will be sharing my favorite brunch places in NYC.. because brunch is always a good idea!!!

For those who don't know what brunch is.. it is a mixture of breakfast and lunch! It has become very popular and almost every restaurant offers a brunch menu!

Brunch is the best way to catch up with friends, go on a fun date with your partner or celebrate a special occasion! Although there are so many options in NYC... not every brunch place is for everyone. Some places have loud music and unlimited drinks and are good for the young crowd and other places are good for kids and families.

With this project I will do lots of fun research and find the best places for brunch and tell you what to wear...!!

Harlem Tavern (Upper West Side/Harlem)
Harlem Tavern Website

The first thing i loved about Harlem Tavern is the Live Jazz during brunch. The waitress was very nice and the service was fast.

I went with my sorority sisters so we had a set menu with 5 options. I recommend the Cornflake Crusted French Toast. It was delicious and fresh. The drinks are perfect as well, the mimosa is more champagne then juice.. the right way lol. They have a set price of $14.95 for brunch and a drink. It is a great place to go with a group of people. If you don't like the sun in your face i recommend sitting inside, but both are really nice.

There is a ALL PINK Restaurant in NYC!!

From the Decor, to the bathroom, even the food!

I was so in Awe, i didn't take many pictures but, THIS IS A MUST SEE!!!!

Pietro Nolita is a family owned Italian Restaurant. Unfortunately, you cannot make reservations, but  It is worth the wait! The owner is really nice and the service is amazing!

Salvation Taco- Chelsea Area

I have been looking for a long time for a nice rooftop low key bar and restaurant. I found a few, this week I am featuring Salvation Taco. It is a small two floor restaurant with a awesome rooftop! They have brunch, lunch and dinner options. Please try the Pumpkin Tres Leche, and The Fish Tacos!!!  The first floor is a colorful vibe and the rooftop is a bar vibe!  This place is perfect for a girls day brunch!!! When we went the service was very slow, so I recommend don't go if your too hungry lol.

The first one i went to a took pictures in front of is Tortaria. It is a Mexican restaurant by Union Square in Manhattan. Their moto is "Traditionally Inspired. Seasonally Driven. Locally Loved." They are a authentic Mexican restaurant with yummy margaritas! They have over 10 flavors of margaritas and they have pitcher options... YUM! I recommend the brunch burrito! It was so yummy! I recommend coming here with friends! It can get loud so I don't recommend bringing kids. It is definitely a place to go this summer!!!

There is no wrong way to be a woman

There is no wrong way to be a woman!!!

This past month I got the incredible opportunity to meet the beautiful Denise Bidot. She started a amazing movement to spread awareness and show woman that we can be whoever we want. We do not have to be apologetic about anything. Embrace who we are and love ourselves. WE ARE DOING EVERYTHING RIGHT!!! Her message is remarkable and makes me truly believe that we can all be our own kind of woman! There is no fit standard we should all follow. We are all different shapes, sizes, ethnicities and its time for us to embrace that difference. Instead of trying to all conform to societies definition, it's time for us to create our own!!! We have to find the greatest love of all in ourselves.
Check out her movement!!!

When I first thought of this outfit, My first thought was a checkered patterned skirt. I feel like pattern is always assumed to be a "women's feminist" patterned skirt. When I see checkered I assume picnic or old fashioned. I did a bright and pop of color style. The style fit perfect for the message I wanted to bring. The shoes brought a new trend to my outfit. I love them and they are so comfortable!!

Vacation Wear

Lately I have been going on a lot of vacations. I like to change scenery and experience new things. I also like to wear new outfits and style them according to where I am. For instance, when I went to New Orleans I styled a jazzy outfit and inspired my outfits by BeyoncĂ©'s formation video.

For Florida I wanted to have fun outfits because Orlando is a fun and playful place. For my night outfit I wore a 2 piece skirt set. I got so many compliments. It was so comfortable and fun. The skirt was the perfect length and the shirt didn't roll up like a lot of crop tops I have. I love off the shoulder looks. This piece is from REBDOLLS. OMG let me tell you why I love them!!!! First, they mix all their sizes together. There isn't a plus size section. They have from small to 5x. How amazing right? I'm so tired of having to shop at a separate section. Why not just extend the sizes?!
Secondly, I love the materials. They tell you if it's light, medium, or heavy. Which helps us decide if we want to wear it in the summer or winter. And thirdly, they have REAL women modeling their clothes! People from all shapes and sizes so it helps us see what it really looks like on.
The only thing I would say is that they sell out very fast!!! So if you see something grab it right away!!
Last but not least, I wore it to Disney and the flowers make it look like hidden mickeys!!!
Rebdolls is my new favorite!!

Set-- Reb Dolls, size 2x, $50, Yellow and Blue
Shoes- Steve Madden, $30, beige

For pool and beach wear my go to is SwimSuit For All!!
They have amazing collections from bloggers, models and designers. From different sizes and styles and stuff is always on sale.
This particular style is from Gabi Fresh who is an amazing blogger! Flamingos are my new favorite print for the summer so I have been dying for a dress or bathing suit and she answered my prayers. This suit is a high waist 2 piece. I didn't feel comfortable yet showing a full body picture. I am not there yet in my journey but as you can see from the picture it is so cute. The material was great too. It didn't roll down or move!! Check out the collections!! The coverup is from SireneNYC she can make it in any color and shape to your size. My fun glasses are from Amazon.

Suit-- swimsuitforall, $60, size 18, pink and green
Coverup-- white, sirene, Check my Instagram for her link, $40

Vacation outfits are so much fun!!
Here is a list of things I always bring
  • 3 suits because they take a while to dry
  • Bathing suit cover
  • A pair of comfortable walking shoes
  • A fancy dress for night out
  • Extra underwear
  • Pjs
  • Heels for pictures lol
  • Day outfit usually a romper or shorts and tee
  • Black outfit because every vacation needs a black night out

Vacations are always fun but the best part is making memories that last forever. No matter what happens traveling gives you a story to tell.
